Our farming operation here, my Uncle and myself operate out of this farmstead. I farm about 1,800 acres of corn, soybeans and wheat, about 1,000 acres of corn, 700 acres of soybeans and roughly 100 acres of wheat. The main reason I looked into the Vistive program was the increased revenue per acre through the premium that they're offering on the Vistive beans--without a yield drag. The premium is driven by the demand from the food companies that want the low trans fat oil from the Vistive low-lin beans. Processors are going to find the oil from someplace, whether it's soybeans or something else and we need to be able to provide the oil through the soybeans, whatever it takes--try to keep that market share. Tell the other farmers they need to take a hard look at planting the Vistive product just for the extra revenue per acre that can generate.
